My students love to play dice game in therapy. This activity takes a little time to set up as you need to put the stickers on the dice. However, once that is done, you will get lots of use out of this versatile bundle while achieving maximum repetitions per session.
I really enjoy incorporating hands on activities with my students. I find that it increases their engagement in our speech therapy sessions while providing me an opportunity to assess their skills in a less structured environment. I still want to make sure that I am maximizing my time, so I started creating associated activities targeting language goals that would accompany the activity. .
1. Each student chooses a color. On their turn they shake the bowl or cup and roll the dice onto the table.
5. They have three turns to get the most of one picture. Then they place their card on the master game board based on the number of rolls they got. (ex. if they rolled 5 peppers, they put their colored pepper token on the board under the 5 column.)
6. Only one player can put their token on a space on the master board. If 2 students end up with the same number, the second student can play their piece on the smaller number.
7. The student with the most points at the end of the game wins.
