Shakepeare's Hamlet - Get Thee To a Nunnery Scene

Shakepeare's Hamlet - Get Thee To a Nunnery Scene
Product Description
Hamlet! This is a powerful scene between a girl and boy. Hamlet loves Ophelia. I believe he does. But he loves his dead father more. And he is SO angry. So to revenge his father he has to make everyone think he’s nuts. Including Ophelia. In this scene, as a director, I have always tried to allow my Hamlet to show the audience his conflict without showing Ophelia. It’s tricky. But when done well…wins every time.

Jan Shelton Hunsaker has been cutting Shakespeare scenes and monologues for her award-winning competition teams for over 20 years. She has coached more than a dozen First Place teams. She is also a playwright with a great sense of dramatic and comic timing. These cuttings contain an encapsulated story, plot or complete thought. They will not leave you hanging!

Each monologue or scene contains a short synopsis, though it is highly recommended that the actor read the play as well to understand the full intent and motivations of the character.

These monologues have proved themselves by being tried and tested at the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival High School Competition. Each monologue (and of course the actor that portrayed the character) received the highest rating.
