Product Description
This bundle includes three of my Shakespeare resources, sold at a discounted price. They are:

1) Shakespeare Poster Templates

This resource is a great way to encourage your students to research and/or create a Shakespeare classroom display, especially during 2016, the 400th anniversary of the playwright's death.

This resource includes 22 templates for students to create small posters as part of a room display or as an assignment. There are 21 topics as well as a generic “Shakespeare” template for students who might want to choose a topic not included. The templates are made in four styles: black and white, black and white with a lined section for writing, color, and color with a lined section for writing. There is space for students to illustrate the posters as well. The lined style may be more suitable for younger students.
Included is a two page suggestion list for each of the twenty-one topics. These are just suggestions and you and your students will probably come up with some of your own! There are also a few presentation ideas at the end of the list of topic suggestions.
The topics included are:

2) 5 Days with Shakespeare
Warm-up activities, bellringers and more!

Teachers can use this set of activities in a number of ways, in class, as assignments, or as an independent study: there are 5 biographical passages about William Shakespeare covering his background, his childhood, his life as a teen and young adult, his early writing career, and his last years. They average around 350 words in length. Each passage stands alone and can be used individually or as bellringers for a five day period. If used as a warm-up, each passage can be read and the activities on the right panel be done within 10 minutes or so. The biography is also included in one continuous text of three pages if the teacher wishes to use it in that format. There is a page of short essay questions that can be used as additional assignments or on a test. This product is aligned for Common Core Standards for grades 9 and 10 but I think it would be appropriate for grade 11 as well and even gifted students in grade 8.
Answer keys are included for all the biographical exercises and a teacher’s guide is included as well. A list of aligned Common Core standards is included.
Please have a look at the preview file as it will give you a good idea of what is in the complete product.

3) Was William Shakespeare Really Shakespeare?
This resource includes
-- two reading passages about the theory that the man called William Shakespeare from Stratford was not actually the man who wrote the plays and poetry attributed to him - it examines the reasons these theories arose, William of Stratford’s background and documented evidence of his life, and mentions three men commonly put forth as “Shakespeare candidates” - Francis Bacon, Christopher Marlowe, and Edward de Vere (Earl of Oxford);
-- a list of ten vocabulary words found in the passages (5 from each) for students to define;
-- a list of six examples of figurative language for students to define and then use in sentences of their own;
-- seven questions on the two passages that encourage critical thinking and measure understanding;
-- a written summarizing assignment in which students make a summary and include required information about an online article concerning the identity of Shakespeare (they could also be assigned a specific one of find one of their own); and
-- answer keys for 2, 3, and 4 above.

The preview file for this bundle does not include a preview for the third item (due to size restrictions). It can be seen by clicking on the link below.
