Product Description
This is a symbols sheet that I use when teaching "The Merchant of Venice"

It goes through what a symbol is (I put the symbol of the Mockingjay on there because a lot of them know it and it sparks some great intro discussion).

It has key symbols from the play, and asks them to analyze what they think the symbol is all about.

It's in a chart form to keep it simple for them, and they keep updating it as we read the play.

NOTE - for the clothing one, we discuss the cross-dressing part about Portia in court.
