This download includes a worksheet for students to create their own word Shakespeare style. These words can be presented to the class and hung on the wall. The second page includes a comic strip where students can practice their own dialogue using words created by themselves/their peers. They can also practice using Shakespearean insults and compliments (see my store for more resources on this!).
This is a great way to introduce students to Shakespeare's language before reading a play. I have used this activity with both 7th and 8th graders and they really enjoy it. My good friend teaches gifted and talented 6th grade and has used this activity with her students with great success.
Due to the open-ended nature of this activity, no answer key is included! I use this as an introduction/practice activity and grade only on completion.
