Product Description
Students are to be divided into foursomes here. Each selects a character and together they block out the lines, indicating tone, action, relationships, and movement. Students can do this within 10 minutes. Each line must have a tone, an action, and a movement. Then students are instructed to read the lines to one another, bringing the text alive. Now, students must get up and act out the lines, adding movement, vocal inflection, props (if necessary).... Students in triads are performing this all at the same time around their clustered desks, so that all students feel comfortable with participating and sharing. Teacher may ask if any group would like to perform for the class but this is not necessary. In last 10-15 minutes of class, ask students for a characterization of Hamlet based on the lines, the movements, the tone.... Put on board --- TravisTips
