I have created a Scavenger Hunt using the internet to introduce students to Shakespeare, his life, and times. It covers his background, the Globe Theatre, Queen Elizabeth, the Plague, and Elizabethan language, customs, food, and dress. Students enjoy learning Elizabethan insults and the more interesting details of living in those days. 51 questions in all with room for students to add their own 'interesting facts'. Students can work in pairs and follow the links to find the answers to the questions. I have checked all links to make sure they work as of 1/4/2012 My students spend two days in the computer room following the links. The activity has been tested for 6 years. Rather than lecturing on the historical background, they enjoy finding the answers themselves and remember more. This project works well with students of all abilities including Gate. This project has taken many hours of work so it is priced to reflect the effort. I hope you enjoy using it!
If you copy the file into your teacher's folder on the computer and delete the "answers", your students can click to follow the links directly from the file.
