This is THAT scene - The scene that makes people want to stand up in their seats and cheer!! This scene can have 15 to 150 kids in it. The more the merrier. If you spend enough time talking about the politics of the play, your students will LOVE this scene. It could also be used in a Social Studies class as a great way to begin a conversation about how easily the public is swayed by the media, or by politicians...or just swayed without thinking.
Approximate performance time is 10 minutes. It requires two great boys and a group of kids that will listen carefully and not be afraid to react to what the main speakers are saying.
Jan Shelton Hunsaker cut this scene and has directed it several times at competition. It has never taken anything less than First Place. Hunsaker has been cutting Shakespeare scenes for 20 years and is a great believer in using Shakespeare as a catalyst to empower teenagers.
