I love to make these adorable shamrock mobiles to hang in March!
Copy the Shamrock patterns onto green construction paper. Have the students cut them out. Next, have the students write their name on the front of the shamrock in large print or cursive.
Either copy off the rainbow strip patterns onto red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet paper or just cut 1 inch strips on a cutting board. Each student needs seven strips each of the above colors of paper to create a rainbow hanging down from the shamrock.
Have the students choose seven words from the adjective page to describe themselves. Have them write an adjective onto each rainbow strip.
Next, glue the strips of paper onto the inside of the back shamrock. There is a line that they glue their strips onto in order to keep the strips hanging at the same level.
Call the students up individually to add wet glue and gold glitter to their names on the shamrocks. You can do this while they are working on writing their adjectives.
After the glue has dried, have the students glue the front of their shamrock onto the back shamrock, enclosing the rainbow strips in the center. See example.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
