Let’s have some shamrock fun with this St. Patrick’s Day themed sight word game! Each shamrock has a scrambled sight word on it. Your students will scoot from shamrock to shamrock and record their unscrambled word on their Shamrock Sight Word List. After all students have a chance to unscramble each word, discuss what the correct words should be. The students with the most correct should receive a prize or praise!
To assemble, choose as many sight words as you have students. Then, use the shamrock number cards to number each scrambled sight word. There are 24 numbers and 2 sight word lists for up to 24 students. Numbering them allows students to know where to write their unscrambled words. It also makes it easy to check for correct words because everyone will have written the same word for the same number. I like to tape each sight word and number to a spot on the students tables. If that won’t work for you, just post around the room or sit your students in a circle on the floor and scoot. You can also put these words in a center and let students unscramble them on their own.
