4 bundled lesson plans are directly aligned to Common Core Standards for 1st Grade Geometry. Content covers distinguishing between defining and non-defining attributes/characteristics of 2D and 3D shapes and building and drawing shapes to possess defining attributes.
Students will explore concepts by the following:
-through picture books with corresponding activities
-using manipulatives to find defining and non-defining attributes
-using Geoboards with rubber bands, popsicle sticks, Play Dough, and shaving cream to build and draw shapes
-creating 2D shape art
-playing Shape BINGO and What Shape Am I?
-using the Shape Attribute Chart
-completing the Shape Attribute Worksheet, and the What Shape Am I? Worksheet. (All worksheets come with answer keys.)
These lessons can be used independently, but are included in the 1st Grade Geometry Unit/Shape Unit by Kara Kruchinski which is available for purchase and cover ALL Common Core Standards in Geometry.
