5 lesson plans are directly aligned to Common Core Content for 2nd Grade Geometry. Content covers identifying and drawing shapes with specific attributes.
Students will explore these concepts in the following ways:
-through picture books with corresponding activities
-2D & 3D shape sorting
-completing a Shape Attribute Chart
-making a shape mobile
-creating shapes with specific attributes by using popsicle sticks, Play Dough, and shaving cream
-creating 2D shape artwork
-playing the "What Shape Am I?" game
-playing Shape BINGO
-going on a shape hunt
-completing the What Shape Am I? worksheet and the Shape Attribute worksheet
(Keys are included in all worksheets/charts.)
These lessons can be used independently but are included in the 2nd Grade Geometry/Shape Unit that includes ALL Common Core Standards for Geometry.
