This freebie gives students the opportunity to walk around the room to find shapes in everyday objects. Students can search for shapes independently or in groups. This printable can be done whole class or also as a math center.
After students find several shapes in each category the back of the paper allows for higher level thinking. Students will look at their lists and decide upon distinguishing characteristics for each shape.
CCSS.Math.Content.1.G.A.1 Distinguish between defining attributes (e.g., triangles are closed and three-sided) versus non-defining attributes (e.g., color, orientation, overall size); build and draw shapes to possess defining attributes.
