Description

Updated Jan 2021- NEW DIGITAL version using Google Slides! Perfect for distance learning! Now you can have the paper and digital version!

This download contains 6 posters and 6 corresponding cootie catchers with open ended questions. Posters have shapes sorted by given attributes. Students will answer questions on cootie catchers and justify their thinking.

Teacher Notes:

Posters 1 and 2 are correct and can be interpreted as is.

Posters 3-6 contain mistakes that students will need to analyze and discover.

Print off these posters and display around the room.

Print off the attached cootie catchers.

Each cootie catcher is poster specific so make sure you keep the appropriate cootie catcher next to the corresponding

poster.

I made my students answer at least three questions from every poster. They recorded their responses in their math

journals.

After everyone visited the 6 different posters, we talked about each poster and each question that was on the cootie

catcher as a whole class.

I did not include an answer key because many of the questions on the cootie catchers are open ended and can vary in

responses.

I made all the questions on the cootie catchers but I got the blank cootie catcher template at

Understand that attributes belonging to a category of two-dimensional figures also belong to all subcategories of that category. For example, all rectangles have four right angles and squares are rectangles, so all squares have four right angles.
