NO Prep Find a Shape Freebie! Students simply draw or write examples of squares, hexagons, circles, triangles, and rectangles that they find in their environment. You can use this activity in many ways. You can assign it as a take home activity, asking students to find shapes at their own home. You can use it teach KG.A.1. by having students look for shapes in your classroom or outside on your school grounds. You can also use it to assess students understanding of CCSS KG.A.1. Finally, you can attach these sheets to clipboards, laminating it if desired, and allow students to engage in this activity at a math center.
This worksheet is designed to address CCSS KG.A.1: Students will describe objects in their environment using shape names.
