Product Description
With this card set, students will have the opportunity to practice matching shapes. This set consists of forty cards (four per printable sheet) ready to be printed and cut apart. The card set is created around the theme of butterflies and moths and has four unique card designs: a butterfly sitting on a flower, a chrysalis hanging from a branch, a moth, and a cocoon on a leaf. The card set has ten “matches” of four cards each. Each “match” consists of a butterfly card, a chrysalis card, a moth card, and a cocoon card – containing the same shape within each card illustration. The card set is created around ten basic geometric shapes: circle, ellipse, square, rectangle, rhombus, two types of triangles, trapezoid, hexagon, and octagon. For example, to create a match, students must find a butterfly card, a chrysalis card, a moth card, and a cocoon card that all contain a circle. Although students don’t need to know the shape names to match them, we have also included a set of ten additional cards with a picture of each shape and its correct name. These may be used as flash cards to help students learn the correct names of the shapes used in the card set.
Our card set can also be used to discuss the differences between butterflies and moths. We have highlighted three differences in our card set.
-resting position of butterflies vs. moths
-antennae for butterflies vs. moths
-butterfly chrysalis vs. moth cocoon
Our card set can be used for many games and activities, both individual and group. We have included three game suggestions, but we’re sure you can come up with many creative ways to use them with your students.

-Ten Sheets of Butterfly and Moth Shape Cards
-Fly Away Draw Pile Sheet
