This shape memory game can be played as a whole class or small group. The goal is to teach students that basic shapes have certain properties regardless of their size or orientation. (For example: One triangle is an equilateral triangle and the other is a right triangle. Students will recognize that triangles have three sides and three corners.) Playing this game, as a whole class, helps students to become more independent with this and other memory style games during center time. This is great for practicing shapes, but can be used anytime during transitions, to fill an extra 5 minutes. This would be easy to leave for a substitute as well. The size of these cards are best for whole group play, but can also be used at a center on the floor.
