2D Plane Shapes included in this product:
Here are directions and what is included:
There are 10 posters (one for each shape). These are great for classroom decorating and using during your math lessons.
These matching cards are great for your little learners to use in a small group or as a center activity. They work well in a pocket chart or on the flat tabletop. In addition, they are awesome cards for playing Memory with.
Assorted Activity Sheets
Included is tracing practice, cut and paste match, and color by the code.
Kids love to create books! Your students can color the shapes and practice writing each of the shape names.
Grab Some Shapes Activity
Students use one hand to grab some shapes out of a tub. Then they record how many of each shape they grabbed by coloring the boxes above each shape.
Fill in the Hexagon Game
You will need:
Game sheet per child (included)
Shape dice (included)
Print the game cards. I recommend laminating a set to be used as a math center. There are two dice templates available. One is in black and white and one is in color. Cut the template out, fold on the lines, and glue in the tabs. This game is meant to played in a small group 2-4 players.
To play, children take turns rolling the dice. After rolling the dice, they take the shape they have rolled and place it in any hexagon on their board. Once they place it, it cannot be moved. The object is to be the first to fill up all their hexagons first. It gets tricky when their hexagons are almost full. For example: they may only have room to fit a triangle, so if they roll a rhombus and it does not fit anywhere they will lose that turn. The students learn to be strategic when placing their shapes as the game progresses.
