Create this match-up flip book with your students to help them start to recognize shapes in our world and to practice writing the words. Use the cover page and an additional 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper for the front and back covers. The shapes that the children will work with are: circle, triangle, square and rectangle. On the writing pages, have your students trace the words and shapes using rainbow writing. On the pages with a blank spot for the shape names, have your students, cut out the labels and the shapes from the cut-out page, and glue them to these pages. When the students have completed the two triangle pages, square pages, rectangle pages, and circle pages, place them in a different order per group to make a top and bottom match up book between the cover and the back. They will have fun finding the matches within their book, or challenging a friend to find their matches.
