The presentation includes:
• Introduction to floods.
• Forest fires explained.
• Tornadoes and Tornado Alley
• Hurricanes explained.
• Landslides and avalanches compared.

The interactive/review slides and printables:
• Activity one has students identifying the similarities and differences between hurricanes and tornadoes using a Venn diagram.
• Activity one has students identifying the similarities and differences between avalanches and landslides using a Venn diagram.
• Activity three has students matching definitions to terms/pictures from the presentation. Included vocabulary - floods, fire, hurricane, tornado, avalanche, landslide, and gravity.

The Earth’s Landforms – A Fourth Grade SMARTBoard Introduction is a SMARTBoard 4th grade level instructional presentation
It includes: a SMARTBoard presentation of the text along with two fully interactive slides that are also available in PDF format to print and issue as classwork, homework, or attach/incorporate into an interactive notebook.

The presentation includes:
• Introduction to four basic landforms (plains, mountains, landforms shaped by water, and landforms shaped by wind.
• Description of river deltas, drainage basins, and continental shelves.
• Explanation of ocean ridge formation.
• Review of the four layers of the Earth (crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core).

The interactive/review slides and printables:
• Activity one has students identifying the four layers of the Earth, along with their descriptions, through a matching/cutting activity.

The Earth’s Crust – A Fourth Grade SMARTBoard Introduction is a SMARTBoard 4th grade level instructional presentation
It includes: a SMARTBoard presentation of the text along with two fully interactive slides that are also available in PDF format to print and issue as classwork, homework, or attach/incorporate into an interactive notebook.

The presentation includes:
• Introduction the movement of the Earth’s crust. Plates are explained, as are mountains (fold and fault block) and plateaus,
• Description of earthquakes and how they travel.
• Explanation of earthquake safety.
• Tsunami explanation with video clip.
• Seismic waves and seismographs.
• Introduction to volcanoes with video clip.


The interactive/review slides and printables:
• Activity one has a matching activity where students identify faults, plateaus, folds, mountains, plates, earthquakes, tsunamis, seismographs, magma, lava, volcanoes, and seismic waves.
• Activity two has students identifying the parts of an earthquake and a volcano. The identifying terms include epicenter, seismic waves, fault, shifting plates, lava, magma, crust, and mantle.

Erosion and Weathering – A Fourth Grade SMARTBoard Introduction is a SMARTBoard 4th grade level instructional presentation
It includes: a SMARTBoard presentation of the text along with three fully interactive slides that are also available in PDF format to print and issue as classwork, homework, or attach/incorporate into an interactive notebook.

The presentation includes:
• Introduction to weathering.
• Physical and chemical weathering explained.
• Erosion/causes (flowing water, wind, and glaciers).
• Deposition explained.
• Glaciers (moraine, terminus, and glacial till).
• Land shaped by people (mining, landfills, and deforestation).

The interactive/review slides and printables:
• Activity one has students identifying the parts of a glacier. The identifying terms include ice, snow, terminus, glacial till, lateral moraine, terminal moraine, medial moraine, and ground moraine.
• Activity two has a matching activity where students identify glacier, physical weathering, chemical weathering, erosion, landfill, mining, deposition, deforestation, terminus, moraine, and glacial till.
