If I could only teach my students one thing, what would it be?
This unique activity came as the answer to my asking myself that question.
All too often, we find ourselves in a room full of Christian teens who know how to parrot answers to our basic Bible questions, but when the rubber meets the road, they don’t deeply know why they believe what they believe. They’re not prepared to share their faith. Perhaps, for some of them, it isn’t really their faith at all.
By following the necessary steps to create a brief brochure sharing a facet of Christianity, students will put into practice the core grammar, writing, persuasion, and research skills they’ve learned, and maybe pick up a couple new skills along the way. More importantly, they will think through their personal beliefs.
This project could also be easily adapted for middle school as well.
Feedback is much appreciated!
