Shark Attack! is a simple and fun card game designed to entertain your students while they practice addition, subtraction, counting on, and counting back. My first-graders chose the game name and theme, and when they saw the finished cards, there was a collective “WHOA!”
As a player, you’ll “go for a swim” by flipping number cards one-by-one and adding each number point (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5) to your total. Flip just one card or as many cards as you dare, but BE CAREFUL! There are sharks in these waters… draw a SHARK! card, and you lose the points you added during your current turn… draw an ATTACK! card, and lose all of your points - you must go back to “0!” The winner is the first player to reach or exceed 50 points.
