Welcome to Lazy Sundays. The package you are interested in is an awesome, somewhat brief, project that allows students to discover real life shark activity! By brief, I mean that it is possible to complete in a 90-minute block period, but ultimately all research and time expectancy is left to the instructor’s discretion.
*Most of my students prefer to present their shark of choice after gathering the required research, so I usually allow for the presentations to trickle over to the next class that we are together.
This project certainly employs students’ artistic and creative skills. The drawing and assembly of sharks are included as well as student samples.
*Internet is a MUST for this assignment to be successful! I usually project the website initially in order to give the students a tutorial of how to choose a shark and how to read the tracking information. (It’s pretty easy once you go on and start clicking around!) Depending on your policies, students can either use personal iPads, laptops or phones to access the site.
Have fun tracking your new marine friends!
