This is a book companion for the super cute and simple book, "Shark in the Park". It's an Usborne book! I've included numerous activities in this book companion packet!
-Act-It-Out Manipulatives & Park Scene
Cut out & laminate the characters and park scene. Use velcro if you want! Act out the story with your students to target story retell, sequencing, word & sentence structure, etc.
-Comprehension Question Cards (Who, What, Where, When)
Use these cards to have children independently retell the story!
-Character Describing Cards
Use these cards to target describing skills & vocabulary! Use the cards to teach basic vocabulary OR have your students hold the card (without showing it to others) and describe salient features for others to listen to, then the other students will guess what the student is describing.
-Compare & Contrast
Discuss the similarities and differences between two animals (3 sets).
-Basic Board Game
Open-ended reinforcement game designed to be used with any activity (e.g. articulation cards, language cards, etc.).
-“Can, Have, Is” Coloring Pages
Discuss what each animal “can” do (e.g. bark, catch a ball, chew on bones), “has” (e.g. fur, tail, four legs) and “is” (e.g. a pet, fun to play with, soft to pet) and color in the animals! Includes: shark, dog, cat, pig, hen, sheep & snake!
