It might be Shark Week! Create a six-page mini booklet with your students to research and learn more about sharks. This is a fabulous way to introduce or reinforce your student’s knowledge of a science topic. This Little Flipper is also perfect for a follow-up after a STEM Challenge!
When students have completed the writing and illustrating, the flippers are easy to cut out and staple together. The templates in this product make one mini flipper book. The books are 8 x 5 inches in size when completed. They will fit in a composition notebook.
Included are simple teacher directions, 2 choices of covers in color and 2 in black/white, the 6-page flipper book, an extra page if students need more space, and a shark poster set! The poster set includes four sharks with a fact box on each poster and a poster about Shark Teeth. Also included are vocabulary strips to display as you work. Sample answers are also in the resource.
These little flippers would be perfect for introducing sharks, independent center work, early finishers, substitute days, or as homework tasks.
Students will:
- Write about specific shark traits
- Label the body of a shark with specific parts
- Match vocabulary words with meanings
- Complete a puzzle about kinds of sharks
- Describe shark teeth and complete a drawing of shark teeth
- Research a shark of their choice
