Students use the interview excerpts at the beginning of each chapter to piece together what happened both immediately after the murder of Simon Glass, and several years later.
Students act as journalists who, 5 years after the murder, are reporting on the release of Young (not on the actual murder itself).
The file includes the student assignment sheet, a chart for recording information as they read through the interview excerpts, student checklist, and a rubric for marking.
From the top of the assignment page:
"Shattering Glass ends abruptly at the scene in the exercise room where Simon is killed and Coop is severely injured. Though not told in the traditional style, the author does reveal details of what came after. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter tell us a great deal about how each character reacted after the murder, and what happened to each character in the five years following that fateful night Simon was killed."
