Seeing sheep in Ireland gave me the springboard to create Sheepishly Good Parts of Speech for the Smart Board. Each of the fourteen pages has one of my original photographs from just north of Dublin and the Giant’s Causeway, and language arts activities for students in grades 2 and 3. This would be a great review for students in grade 4 for nouns (several pages have collective nouns), verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and pronouns. Every page has at least three interactive activities to use. Answers are instantly available making this a great activity to use for a language arts center.
Here is a sampling of questions asked: What can a group of sheep be called? Correct this sentence. What is the correct noun to use (sheeps/sheep)? Create a complete sentence using the words “graze sheep”. Change the underlined noun to a pronoun. Create a sentence with 2 adjectives and one adverb. What words in this sentence are adjectives?
Your students will have fun with this way to learn language!
