“Where are the dinosaur books? Where are the space books?” Do these questions sound familiar? If your library is anything like mine, I bet we answer “Where are…” questions over 100 times every day! So this summer, I created a new set of signage for each section of my library.
Here’s what’s included:
1) A set of labels 4.5 inches long by 2.25 inches high for each section:
*BLUE = A to Z labels for either the Everybody or Easy section (both are provided). I even included some double letters as well as a blank editable version.
*PURPLE = A to Z labels for the Biography section. I even included some double letters as well as a blank editable version.
*ORANGE = A to Z labels for the Fiction section. I also included a set of orange labels with the genre names (with and without images). A blank editable version is included a well.
*GREEN = 100’s numbers for the Non-Fiction section as well as 80 additional numbers. A blank editable version is included as well.
*Updated 8/21/17 to include black and white versions of each section so you can print them on colored paper instead of printing in color ink.
2) Best of all, I’ve also included a set of 72 pictures to correspond with different Non-Fiction topics/Dewey Decimal numbers to help the little ones find books too!
All you need to do is print, cut them out, tape them to your shelves, and voilà! Instant independence! Okay… maybe not right away, but definitely a step in the right direction!
I hope you find this useful!
