The Shifting Parabolas Scavenger Hunt was created by Pupsaroni Puzzles for an Algebra 1 classroom during the Quadratic Equations unit. This scavenger hunt has students look at a set of properties of how it was flipped, stretched, or shifted up, down, left, or right, and then students create the equation that produces that parabola. This activity has students up, walking around, practicing the shifting parabolas material, while communicating with their peers about the topic. There is an instruction sheet as well as an answer key included with the cards. Keeping them stored in a baggie or manilla folder makes them easily accessible for math centers, personal review, or just a "get your students up, walking, and talking about the topic" activity.
