Are you thinking about doing a novel study for "Shiloh" by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor? If so, this packet of materials is all you need! This novel study is divided into four sections; I cover one section each week, starting with comprehension questions, then vocabulary, literature circles and writing prompts, and ending the week with the quiz.
A unit outline is provided that divides the book into four sections.
For EACH section, you get:
•Writing prompt that encourages higher level thinking and creativity
•Higher level thinking questions to use in literature circles
•Comprehension questions (10 questions)
•Comprehension questions Answer Key
•Vocabulary words (8 words chosen from the reading)
•Quiz (Vocabulary and Comprehension)
•Quiz Answer Key
I have also included a Question and Prediction Graphic Organizer that I use in all my novel studies. Before starting each section, have your students practice their questioning and predicting skills by writing three questions about what they want to know in the section and make a prediction about what they think will happen.
Samples are provided for this novel study if you want to take a look. If you want to get a better idea of just what it included in my novel studies, check out my listing for "Dear Mr. Henshaw" (free download)!
