I love literature circles and novel studies! I like to use comprehension questions that are specific to the text that the students are using. It makes it easier to give them specific feedback and guidance. After reading, I have my students respond to a task card question about the assigned chapter.
The Shiloh task card question set has a comprehension and vocabulary question for all 15 chapters and an answer key for easy accountability!
The questions include the following skills:
- Problem/ Solution
- Key Details
- Point of View
- Cause and Effect
- Character Evaluation
- Literary Phrases
- Internal Conflict
You can print, laminate, and have them ready to use each year!
I copy them and have the students keep them in novel study journals. I score them using the rubric in my store. The students track their progress and enjoy looking back in their journals at the stories they have read.
Happy reading! :)
