Product Description
• Create oceans on your whiteboard/chalkboard/desks with blue paper or blue markers and label.
• Divide class into teams of 3-4 students.
• Give each team a problem card “ship”.
• Every member of the group works the problem and raises their hand when they are done. You go over and check their work and answers. If EVERYONE has done the problem correctly, they get a "baby ship" which they put their group number on and hang in any one of the oceans.
• As they finish a "ship", they go get another one. The goal is get as many "baby ships" as possible to hang in the ocean.
• About 5 minutes before the end of the period, I draw for how many points each ocean will be worth. I use 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100. So if the Atlantic Ocean is worth 50 points and a group had 2 baby ships in that ocean, they will get 100 points.
• Modify for holidays: Leaves in the Trees, Ghosts in the Graveyards, Presents on the Christmas Trees

This game includes solving literal equations, multi-step equations, graphing compound inequalities, story problems, and classifying numbers.

This game consists of 6 ships with 3 problems each for a total of 18 problems, one ages of a blank ship template, and a sheet of 12 baby ships.
