This guide will help students to understand yet another danger to our oceans.
Ocean acidification is something you won't notice when you are out for a swim, but ocean organisms are feeling the change. As industrial activities and the burning of fossil fuels continue to increase, more and more greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, or CO2, are getting into the air. From there the ocean absorbs about one-fourth of that gas and the only way to stop and reduce acidifaction is to stop the release of CO2 into the air.
