This seems like a pretty weird writing template right? It actually serves as a great tool to help teach descriptive writing.
All the kids take off their shoes. We put one of each shoe in a pile. The kids then use descriptive writing to describe their shoe.
If everyone does a good enough job, we can match all the shoes to their owners. This never happens though so it leads us to a great discussion on how we can improve our descriptive writing.
Notice there is no place for kids to write their names...they have to write them on the back. Apparently, they all know whose shoes are whose so when I read the descriptions out loud I keep them anonymous.
