Students can practise their letter recognition with this fun game!
To play: In groups, students take one card when it is their turn, say the name of the letter, and then hold on to the card if they get it correct. If they pull out a ‘Blast off!’ card all of the cards they have won so far go back into the pile. To make it more difficult the student may have to say the sound the letter makes, or name something that begins with that letter. You could choose to leave out the ‘Blast off!’ cards to make the game quicker.
You could also use these cards to match upper and lower case letters, to spell CVC or high frequency words, or to match with a letter chart.
The main font used is a print font.
