I want meaningful repetition when I teach, as well as target culture. Often, these cannot go together because finding multiple pieces of realia that probe the same objective is time-consuming and at times impossible.
In my travels throughout southern Mexico this summer, I took pictures of many storefronts. Later, I sliced them up and layered them using software so that characters I have animated in Power Point can appear to enter the shops to buy something or appear to leave them because they've just made a purchase. I added sound effects and graphics to stimulate production and curiosity, and what is now available is a provocative, immersing tool that will get your kids describing what they see and asking questions about the target culture.
The rationale for engagement for the students is that while traveling in Mexico, they can use a "magic app" on their cell phones which allows them to see what people are thinking and into their recent history, This allows them to explain why various individuals are entering or leaving certain stores.

There are **two** contexts to this file: Shopping for health (salud), and coming from lessons (lecciones, like art, dance, or music). There is another product that practices two other contexts (alimentos, and also cumpleaños), as well as a package that includes all four contexts for a lower price.
Slides can be recycled over the course of a year as you visit each curricular objective. Slide text can be changed easily without affecting all of the bells and whistles that will keep student attention. Each objective has a button that scrolls the text across the screen so that you as the teacher can control how much input the students see, isolating the lesson to the curriculum you are practicing. Each slide also has buttons for mild applause, enthusiastic applause, or a buzzer to help control tempo and reward in your classroom.
Included are several pages of how to use this tool as the teacher as well as how to have the students approach what they see, including a bit of exploration on Google ahead of time, if you like. I've also created a vocabulary list for each of the four contexts for your use.
