Use this page to help teach coin addition in a fun and interactive way. In my classroom, the students went "shopping" for school items. I put the price of the items on the white board and then handed out this sheet. They had to write the item they wanted to purchase in the left column and then the prices of the items in the right column. On the blank lines they added up how much the items they wanted to purchase would cost (like balancing a check book). You can change things up by allowing them to play shop and actually purchase the items using play money, or you can give a budget amount and see if they can stay under that amount.
