Attached is an Short I/ Long I Packet with various NO PREP activities included. Inside is also an original Short I Long I poem/ song to the tune "Three Blind Mice". I make large versions of these on chart paper to sing along with the class, but I attached color copies as well so you can just print and go! The following activities are also included:
★ Student copy of poem - Students will highlight/circle the Short I/ Long I words.
★ Cards to use for Direct Instruction/ Teaching ..or whatever you want to use them for! ;)
★ Word Sort - Students sort their highlighted words from the poem onto the word sort page.
★ Draw It - Students read 6 different words and draw pictures to go with each one (2 Short I, 2 Long I, 2 Mixed)
★ Build It - Students cut apart letters/ pictures and piece them together (1 Short I, 1 Long I) (Colored version and B&W version)
★ Build It (easier) - Students cut apart beginning letter, ending sound, and picture to piece together (1 Short I, 1 Long I, 1 Mixed) (Colored version and B&W version)
★ Puzzle It - Students cut apart puzzle pieces and piece back together. 4 puzzles on each page. (4 Short I, 4 Long I) (Colored version and B&W version)
★ BINGO - BINGO cards already made with Short I and Long I words. 6 different cards available to play in center rotation. Teacher calls words from cards attached.
★ Match It! - Students draw lines to match the pictures to the correct words. (1 Short I, 1 Long I, 1 Mixed)
★ Circle It! - Students circle the correct word to match the picture (2 Easy with 2 choices, 2 Hard with 4 choices)
★ Bubble It! - Students build words by bubbling the correct letters and writing them on the lines. (1 Short I, 1 Long I, 2 Mixed)
★ Sort It - Students cut apart 20 words and paste them in the correct category
★ Sentences - Students write complete sentences using the words provided. Students check boxes at the bottom of the pages ensuring they have completed each part of writing a complete sentence. (5 versions, all Mixed Short I/ Long I)
★ Quiz - Test the students' knowledge of the concept by having them circle the correct word. Each picture has 2 answer choices (Ex: fiv, five). Total of 10 questions.
