Do you have a hard time getting your readers to practice reading? Don't worry, me too. For some reason reading a book can sometimes seem like a daunting task to new or struggling readers. I needed a way for my readers to practice fluency with sentences but in controlled text. I also needed it to be fun and not overwhelming to them. The answer is sentence games! Sentence games give your readers the practice they need to become a fluent and accurate reader. I find my students spend so much more time on task reading when it is in a game form.
What you get:
30 simple decodable sentence strips with an easy to read sentence on each one.
4 Go again cards
4 Lose a turn cards
4 Give a card to a friend cards
4 Pick another card and read it twice cards
These are the perfect way to end a guided reading, small group reading, or Orton-Gillingham Reading lesson. They also work great in a center or can be used during shared reading time!
