This resource is a great way to have students practice the application of literary terms that they are learning in their short story unit. The manipulatives help keep students engaged as well as create movement in the classroom from station to station. These stations can be used year after year to review before a final test, to help students practice what they've learned, or to just have a fun day to break up the classroom monotony.

The following terms have stations in this resource:

dramatic irony, verbal irony, situational irony

mood

indirect and direct characterization

flat and round characters

static and dynamic characters

Point of view (1st, 3rd, 3rd limited, 3rd omniscient)

man vs. man, man vs. nature, man vs. machine, man vs. society
