PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

I created this short story to bring to life the General Textile Strike of 1934 and the violence that resulted in the deaths of 7 workers at the Chiquola Mill in Honea Path, South Carolina.

Included in this powerful resource is a list of words students may not know with definitions, a list of questions for students to answer using information from the story, questions to guide classroom and small group discussions, and two writing prompts.

Short stories such as this are an excellent way to help students connect to history. Use this short story in your classroom and watch the past come alive for your students!
