This is a zip file for all of the stories in the Analysis Project.... Are you ready for the list? Here we go :)

These stories are the ones I have chosen to accompany the Short Story: Analysis Project. (NOTE: The assignment itself is not included in this zip file, just the stories. Do not want to be misleading.) Lots of choices I know, but choice is always a good thing. Use as few or as many as you would like. For the project, the students choose three stories from lists that you have provided. Over the course of a several week period, they will be asked to look at diction, style/syntax, and tone.... This is a great project because the students are exposed to more literature than you could ever possibly cover in class. And let's face it, there is such a huge body of work to choose from when considering any artistic medium, but to my mind, especially literature. No matter what grade you teach, or even what subject, we as teachers can never expose our students to as much material as we would like. This project helps do that at least a little though... It gets them reading, exposes them to different ideas, and yes, this counts too, is a way to assess their reading strategies and skills with a minimum of grading on your part :) Give it a try!
