Graphic Organizers are an effective way for students to record and organize their thoughts. This short story graphic organizer begins with the brainstorming phase where students generate story ideas. In inclusion of a “Story Summary” allow students to “tell” their story plot point by plot point. This is an effective approached used by students and amateur writers, as well as, professional published writer. As a published writer, myself, I always write a story summary before writing my first draft.
Teachers can use this graphic organizer in a step-by-step format where they can more easily guide students through the short story writing process, or as a general guide for students.
