Product Description
In this teaching packet, you will be provided with all the resources that you need to offer an alternative assessment or activity for your students using a great motivating tool – technology!

Students will love to showcase their knowledge of a short story by creating a dynamic, interactive image that includes tagged sound files, songs, images, videos, and hyperlinks to related websites.

This project is designed to be used with any short story!

Each resource that students will use to create their interactive Thinglink image is free and can be accessed with Google Chrome.

Students can use these materials with a MAC, Windows PC, Chromebook, iPad, or from any Smartphone! All materials are editable. Teachers will be able to make changes if needed!

After reading a short story, students will first create a photo collage of related images. Several free collage-maker websites are linked to the Thinglink Student Project Handout.

After creating their collages, students will search for related online content to include as an embedded “tag” in Thinglink (a user-friendly, highly-rated free educational tech tool and website).

By searching for video files, audio, songs, and images, students will be given the opportunity to analyze and select more than one source type to represent their knowledge and analysis of a literary text.

Links to online digital sound effects and free music sites are included – along with directions on how to embed them into their Thinglink collage!

Students will love the opportunity to create and design their own interactive image!
