"Lamb to the Slaughter," is an engaging short story by Roald Dahl. After reading this short story with your class, have your students answer questions concerning plot, setting, and irony. The lesson requires students to use evidence from the text to reveal their understanding of how important literary elements function in a story. This lesson pairs nicely with the review of literary elements which can be found in my PowerPoint (sold separately) which also has guided notes (sold separately). This handout contains objectives and the CCSS this lesson addresses.
