This resource will help your students practice reading and writing words with short a in fun, hands-on, engaging ways!

Activities for four different short a word families are included: -at, -an, -ap, -ag

-at: Mat of -at Words {students will write -at family words on colorful squares to create an -at family mat}

-ag: Bag of -ag Words {students write -ag family words on bag cards, put them into a paper bag, and play a word family pull and write game}

-an: Can of -an Words {students create a 3D can to put -an family word cards inside to use to create and play an -an family read, find, and color activity}

-ap: My -ap Cap {students write -ap family words on a cap template to create an -ap word cap}

Two of these activities get turned into a fun game for students to play during centers or for extra practice at home! Students will love interacting with these short vowel word families in a fun, meaningful way.

Word family posters are also included in full color and black and white format for easy printing.
