Kinder League is here to save the day! We have created a Short Vowel CVC Packet! In this packet you will get 5 different activities to help your students blend and read CVC words.

This is what you get:

CVC crossword puzzles- You will get 5 different crossword puzzles for the 5 different short vowels.

CVC read the words cut and paste- Students need to read 12 different cvc words and paste the picture onto the corresponding word.

CVC blend and build the words- You will get 50 various CVC blend and build the word pages. In this activity your students will blend, trace, write, color (picture and word) and build/ spell the cvc word.

CVC complete the word- Students will finish the cvc word (initial letter is given) and color the pictures. Extra practice is given by having the students read the words and then draw a picture to match.

CVC Word Searches- You can choose from 3 different versions of these short vowel word searches. The first version is a traditional word search where your students can search for CVC words. The second version has writing lines to have your students write sentences with the words they found, and the last third version have sentences that need to be completed.

These CVC activities are wonderful for homework or workshop activities. Students and teacher favorites!

Distinguish between similarly spelled words by identifying the sounds of the letters that differ.
Associate the long and short sounds with common spellings (graphemes) for the five major vowels.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)
