Dominoes are a great way to promote independence and cooperation in the classroom. This is a bundle set of short vowel dominoes, including my free A resource (for convenience!) and E-I-O-U. They are available with comic sans and Sassoon infant fonts, making it very versatile!
The following words are included:
Short A: cap, map, can, mad, dad, bat, pan, cat, jam, fan, hat
Short E: net, bed, vet, web, hen, jet, wet, red, pen, leg, ten
Short I: mix, zip, six, fin, rib, kid, sit, dig, win, lip, rip
Short O: hot, dog, lock, fog, cot, pop, pot, cop, box, cob, hop
Short U: buzz, gum, mug, duck, sub, hug, cut, bug, tub, cut, mud
Directions: Simply set out the cards and let the children work individually or in pairs to match the picture on one side of the domino to the corresponding word. Encourage the children to work together and to make different shapes with their dominoes. This is a great independent center activity.
