Short Vowel identification- This short vowel pack is an interactive and fun way for your students who are early finishers or who need extra practice to work on their short vowel skills! This pack is low prep and uses very little ink as all of the pages you'll print are in black & white. Students will play I Spy by hunting for the short vowel items hidden in each picture! There is one picture that focuses on each of the short vowels- a,e,i,o,u.
Download the preview to grab your two FREE short a sample pages and to see the visual teacher instructions!
This pack can be used a few ways.
Print out each I Spy picture page, slide into a plastic sleeve, and students will circle the short vowel words using a dry erase marker. Then, students can record their answers on one of the two differentiated recording sheets. This option is great for early finishers, centers, or small group instruction.
Print out the short vowel I Spy picture you are focusing on. Have students color the pictures that they find in the picture, and then use the cut and paste word sheets to label the items in the picture. This option is perfect for whole class practice, one-on-one work, or as an assessment.
Each picture also comes with a short vowel word list that students can practice reading or could be used as an oral assessment!
As always, my goal is to make teaching a breeze.
