This product contains 6 short vowel i word cards (kid, fin, lip, pig, bib, zip) and 6 long vowel i word cards (kite, bike, tire, dice, lime, fire) in color and black and white. Also included is a sorting map and two worksheets, 1 where students are only required to write the words that they sorted and 1 where students will write the words that they sorted and write a sentence using a long vowel word and a short vowel word.
This product is designed to be used during center/small group instruction time. Students will sort the picture cards based on the long vowel sound or the short vowel sound. Students will then write their results on their worksheet. To differentiate, or if time remains, after students have filled in their worksheet, students must choose one short vowel and one long vowel word and write a sentence using each word.
